Shopping Local for Baby at WeeStock 2013

01 OCTOBER 2013

Hundreds of new and expecting parents will be shopping locally for their babies and toddlers on Saturday, November 9th at WeeStock Indie & Boutique Baby Show in Edmonton at the Aviation Heritage Centre this Fall. WeeStock is a unique show in Edmonton that focuses on bringing local, handmade, organic, fair trade, and boutique-quality baby and toddler products and services to young families in the area since its first show in early 2010.

“It is really important to shop locally as much as you can”, says WeeStock co-producer Leah Seidl, who owns an independent accessories company called Whimsical Elements. “By keeping money in the community, you help boost the local economy and support small business owners. Our exhibitors are moms and families from Edmonton & surrounding areas.”

Christina, co-producer of the show and the owner of local baby clothing company Golly Gee Baby, adds: “WeeStock is a show featuring a special, curated group of small businesses from Alberta that specialize in baby products and services. By shopping for your baby at WeeStock, you are not only supporting these unique local businesses but you are also getting higher quality products and services for your child. Many of our exhibitors feature handmade and organic products.”

WeeStock 2013, WeeStock’s 6th show, will be held at the Aviation Heritage Centre at 11410 Kingsway Avenue in Edmonton on November 9th from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to a unique shopping experience the show will have a Parent’s Lounge area for baby feeding and changing, a cafe with snacks and drinks, and a kid’s play area. You can also trade in your stroller for a baby carrier to try at our stroller check. Come early to the show – the first 100 guests will receive an early bird prize bag!

WeeStock will also be hosting a silent auction in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Guests are encouraged to bid on some items provided by vendors and sponsors, and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Foundation. Direct donations to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation will also be encouraged.

The show will be the perfect opportunity to shop for a special mom-to-be in your life, for your new baby arriving soon, or for Christmas presents that you won’t find anywhere else for your toddlers. Grab your best friend, come for a hot cup of coffee, and enjoy a unique shopping experience.

WeeStock is proudly sponsored by Cosy Baby Happy Mommy, Frugal Edmonton Mama, Modern Mama, Mommy Connections, Sweet Momma Spa, Urban Infant, The Waldorf Education Society of Edmonton, Whimsical Elements & Golly Gee Baby.
